A 3,000 Year Tradition of
The Portuguese tradition of Filagree jewelry can be traced back to the Etruscans 3,000 years ago. Today it survives with producers in the North of Portugal. Our inaugral pieces are known as the "Contas de Viana" and are small ball studs with intricate work on them said to resemble the eye of a partridge for good luck and protection. They are traditionally given between women as a sign of friendship. Upon arriving to live in Portugal with my husband, the female members began gifting me with many pieces of this type of jewelry! I then carried on the tradition with my family and friends back in the US. I hope now to help spread this beautiful tradition around the world.
I originally bought her the silver earrings since she primarily wears silver or white gold, but then I gifted these gold ones to her too as she likes to wear yellow gold jewelry sometimes too. They are very elegant.
Levely earings to use on a daily basis.
I love these earrings! Such a great timeless design that they go with any style. In fact they are so lightweight and comfortable I forget I have them on. I received the silver ones as a friendship gift, loved them so much I am now getting the gold ones.
Absolutely the best pair of earrings I've ever had..great for everyday wear or dressup...& extra special bc my daughter gifted them to me❤
I love these earrings! They are beautiful and well-made. Great for everyday wear, but could easily be dressed up for a special occasion. The story behind them also helps make them a thoughtful and unique gift. Highly recommend!
